Terms of use

These are the terms for using TMC Plugins and TMC Hub. They match what the install guide and TMC Hub say.

Licence scope

It's a one-time purchase you can use with no time limit. It is not a subscription.
One licence key works on up to 2 computers at the same time, and you can mix Windows and Mac.
You can use it on commercial projects, including personal work, freelance jobs, and client deliverables.
Installation, updates, and activation are done through TMC Hub. TMC Hub renews activation automatically, and each renewal stays valid for 3 days.
If you need a lot of seats, for example for a company, team, or school, we offer a separate multi-seat licence.

What we ask of you

The following are not permitted.

Sharing your licence key with others or reselling it
Faking device information or tampering with activation to get around the seat limit
Building or distributing a modified copy with the licence check removed
Cycling deactivation and activation across multiple computers to get past the 2-seat limit

If this is found, every device registration on the account is released and the account is permanently suspended. Keys on a suspended account cannot be activated again.

Device history is recorded per account, and repeated seat turnover far outside normal use is detected automatically. However, normal reasons such as reformatting or replacing parts are not penalized. In those cases, contact us and we'll sort it out for you.

Asking "Can I use it this way?" never counts against you. If a situation is unclear, write to temacaworks@kakao.com before you go ahead.

Refund policy

Refunds are available only if you request one within 7 days (1 week) of the purchase date. After 7 days have passed, a refund is no longer possible.
To request a refund, email temacaworks@kakao.com with the email address you used for the purchase.
Once a refund is processed, that key's access is removed and the devices registered to it are deactivated.

Privacy policy

This is the same policy you agree to when you first run TMC Hub. You can view it again at any time in the Hub's Info tab.

TMC Hub Privacy Policy (v1, effective 2026-09-02)

TMC Hub collects the information below to authenticate licences and deliver plugin updates. Network communication happens only with the TMC server.

1. Information collected

Account: email address, licence key
Device identifier: a one-way hash (SHA-256) of a hardware identifier. The original value is never transmitted and cannot identify a person.
Device details: computer name, operating system and version, CPU, memory size, graphics card and acceleration backend
Software details: installed TMC plugins and versions, After Effects versions, Hub version
Usage records: activation, deactivation and download times, and install failure reasons
Connection data: IP address (received automatically when connecting to the server)

2. Information NOT collected

Project files and their contents, file listings, keyboard input, web browsing history and location data are not collected.

3. Purpose

The data is used only for licence authentication and seat management, delivering updates, technical support and abuse prevention. It is not used for advertising or marketing and is never sold to third parties.

4. Retention

Data is kept while the licence is valid. On an account deletion request it is deleted without delay, except where a legal retention duty applies. Connection records are deleted 12 months after collection.

5. Processors and international transfer

The server runs on infrastructure operated by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), where the collected data is stored. Payments are handled separately by Gumroad, Inc.; the Hub does not collect payment information.

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, and deregistration of a device. Contact: temacaworks@kakao.com
